This is a 1993 Dunlop JH-4S Rotovibe Chorus/Vibrato in excellent condition. Similar in sound, and function, to the Uni-Vibe, first popularized by Jimi Hendrix's use performing the National Anthem at Woodstock in 1969, it has a uniqueness that falls somewhere between a chorus and a phaser - when in Chorus mode. Where have you heard it?
Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)"; "Machine Gun"; more...
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon
Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs"
Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains
...
This is from my personal collection, purchased new, by me, in San Francisco in 1993. It is nearly flawless, with the exception of a scrape at the back left corner, as shown in the pictures above.
You can create your 'personalized' sound by adjusting the accessible trim pots on the circuit board (Shown in pics). Later versions had these covered by glue to dissuade owners. This pedal has NOT been tampered with (I do have another that I removed the glue from and adjusted to make it sound more like this one, and a newer Dunlop UV-1 Uni-Vibe that I own).
This pedal also has the large photocells (4 funky black things at the back of the board), whereas the newer JD-4S Rotovibe has smaller cells.
