Persona music but it's a big band jazz... funk... rock? kind of thing.

Man, I've been busy doing music for a lot of other projects but it's nice to finally have a chill week with a bit of time for myself. Of course, I didn't use this time to relax, I made this cover instead! I realize that this is the first video I upload with my new camera and lights on this channel, I've used them a lot in the past two months and I absolutely love the quality it adds to my work. I got a bit more fancy with the color grading in this video, the colors get warmer and colder at certain points and I did some weird stuff during the bridge to spice it up visually. The most important part of my videos is the music, but I love cinema (I'm actually studying in this field) and having good visual quality can somethimes be enough to make viewers stay a bit longer, so I think it's smart to spend time on these things.

For this arrangement, I tried to make it very different form the original song since my last video was a bit too easy on the creative side. I decided on a very upbeat groove based on the super smash bros. ultimate remix, but I didn't want to just make the same song just with different instruments, so I worked very hard on the parts to make it my own. Most of the parts weren't too hard to perform, but I did challenge myself by writing a high A on the trumpet when I wasn't capable of playing one. This pushed me to grind trumpet a lot and man the more I play this instrument the more I fall in love with it, what a powerful sound! Luckily, by the time I had to record the brass parts I was good enough to hold a tight high A for a bar. Really glad I pushed through!
