Driver’s Licenses
The new law provides that Florida will not recognize out-of-state driver's ilcenses issued to “undocumented immigrants” who cannot provide proof of "lawful presence" in the United States.
And if an undocumented immigrant with an out-of-state license is stopped by the police, the officer will give them a ticket for driving without a valid license.
What does it mean to say that an undocumented immigrant can't produce any proof of "lawful presence" in the U.S,?
Well, it means that the individual couldn't produce, for example, a valid I-94, a valid Temporary Protective Status (or "TPS"), proof of a pending asylum case (and there are A LOT of those), a valid DACA, or even proof that they're currently in removal proceedings.
