Behavior characteristics like OnSelect and OnChange are now supported by Power Platform. It was considered a lacking feature since when components were made available. To enable code in an app to be executed in response to the occurrence of a behavior-property, Power Apps developers had to rely on workarounds. So that's it. Components for canvas apps have now reached their full potential.
