A very interesting demonstration of a portion of SAGE, a very early Cold-War mainframe-plus computer designed to serve as an early-warning defense in case of Soviet attack. SAGE's decentralized design made it an early prototype of what would later become the Internet.
This scene is from an intriguing, pretentious, meticulously researched, morally ambiguous, sincere, searching, cynical, callous, and necessary documentary about the Merry Pranksters, the CIA, MK-Ultra, Harvard University and the Unabomber called "The Net." It's sorta what the Glenn Beck backboard would have on it if he were serious about conjectural research and not just making it up.
