Second World War Joseph Lucas Girder Major 93 wrench fully restored from a dirty, rusty, seized up lump to better than new. The British War Department arrow mark was covered up by a lump of solder. Filing, sanding and polishing bring it back to a being a usable tool.
The Girder wrench was first patented by Joseph Lucas in 1896 and made through to the 1950s. The design has been much copied but not often bettered.
If you can identify the age of the WD mark please leave a comment and let me know. Many thanks for watching.
