With an excerpt from the Dream Pool Essays written by Shen Kuo, a Chinese scientist in the Northern Song Dynasty, as the prelude, the song tells the story where two celestial beings from the astronomical asterisms set off on an adventure into the world of mortals on Qixi Festival. Combining location shooting with CG technology, the production gives out a marvelous presentation of diversified Qixi folk customs, such as threading needles in the moonlight and praying for better needlework skills, demonstrating craftsmanship on Qixi night, and worshiping the “spoon” of the Big Dipper for good results in examinations.
