■ WATER FEATURES:
Water, earth and fire combine to make the Expo 2020 Water Feature one of Expo 2020’s must-see attractions. Experience giant sheets of water tumbling down 13m high vertical walls that by day cascade into a mysterious, multi-hued circle of fire, and by night defy gravity by flowing upwards accompanied by an orchestral score. Situated between Al Wasl Plaza and Jubilee Park, the Water Feature combines the elements of water, earth and fire in a way that will both surprise and delight the senses. Visitors coming from Al Wasl Plaza enter a verdant 40m wide garden of towering palms and fragrant plants rising above a series of curving paths that encircle the central water feature like ripples in a pond. Large planted walls rise up around the feature, with three openings to a central area that takes visitors below ground level. The 153 individual waves range from glistening sheets to bursts of water that literally leap from the walls as they make their dramatic descent to the plaza below. People are invited to walk to the base of the falls to see how the water disappears through the stone. At night the waves reverse themselves – producing a gravity-defying spectacle as they flow up the walls. At the feature’s centre is a mysterious circle of fire that produces enormous bursts of flames in spectral hues of red, green and yellow. In keeping with Expo 2020’s theme of sustainability, these huge flames are of pure hydrogen and therefore produce no carbon. Each surge of water is released on a musical cue, creating an orchestral masterpiece performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

■ EXPO 2020:
It's a World Expo, currently hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being postponed, organizers kept the name Expo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris named Dubai as the host on 27 November 2013. The master plan, designed by the American firm HOK, is organized around a central plaza, entitled Al Wasl, enclosed by three large thematic districts. The expo will have a theme called "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future". Each one is dedicated to one of the sub-themes of Expo 2020 – Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. The Expo 2020 Dubai will be a global gathering of ideas, cultures, and shared values.

Ticket prices: Three types of passes can be booked: daily passes, monthly passes and seasonal passes. The daily pass is applicable for one day only, costing AED 95. The monthly pass offers unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days and costs AED 195. The seasonal pass offers unlimited entry for the entire six months of the Expo and costs AED 495. Entry is free for children below the age of 18, students holding valid ID cards of recognized academic institutions, and visitors aged 60 and above. Tickets are also free for people of determination (disabled people), with 50% off being offered for one caretaker. Tickets went on sale worldwide from 18 July 2021 at the Expo's official website expo2020dubai.com.

■ FREE BUS RIDE:
The RTA said it has deployed 203 Expo Riders buses to transport visitors to the exhibition from nine stations in Dubai. Two of the bus routes will lift visitors directly from hotels near the Expo site. The three stations in Abu Dhabi city are Abu Dhabi International Airport, Abu Dhabi Main Bus Station, Marina Mall Station, and one station at Al Ain Bus Station. There are two stations in Sharjah: Al Jubail bus station and Muwaileh bus station in addition to Ras Al Khaimah bus station, Ajman bus station, and Fujairah bus station near City Centre. There will be 287 trips per day during weekdays, rising to 358 trips during the weekends (Thursday and Friday). RTA had previously designated 126 Expo Riders buses to transport visitors for free directly from nine stations directly to the Expo site. The stations are - Palm Jumeirah, Al Baraha, Al Ghubaiba, Etisalat, Global Village, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Mall and Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 with 455 to 476 daily journeys.
