This recreation took some time because I fiddled around with matching the ending, and the inkwell logo to as close as I possibly could, along with the editing. I know that it is not perfect (you can still see the original inkwell). I’m looking into other video editors. I tried to find the best quality source. As a side note, it looks like the DVNR process was used on this print (The source itself appears to have been pulled from the mid-1990s Betty Boop VHS/Laserdisc release from Republic.) Despite DVNR’s attempt to restore, it actually distorts the picture quality because of how carelessly it is used when it comes to cartoons. I’m not too pleased that Betty in Blunderland wasn’t restored for the DVD/Blu-Ray set some years ago. I hope someday the remaining episodes will be restored (and those few that are lost films in the series are rediscovered) but I’m not too high on it because I feel that both Paramount and Olive Films don’t understand how much value there really is to the Fleischer cartoons that they own. Nor does it seem like they care either.
The next Betty Boop ending recreation will come from a restored DVD/Blu-Ray source. Once again, apologies for the print along with the errors.
