Older spas do sometimes need the entire control system switched out.
Sometimes because like the SP1000 or SP750 or SpaNet there are no longer parts available, and sometimes due to water or electrical damage.
I do recommend SpaNet & Balboa gear for this exchange. They are great quality and last a long time. Beware though as there is some Balboa gear available that is not through the proper channels and doesn't carry a manufacturer warranty. Cheap on the internet can bite sometimes.
