The Law Panel in India is set to recommend a 'One Nation, One Election' plan, proposing a constitutional rejig to accommodate this. The panel suggests synchronising the terms of assemblies and constituting a unity government if the current government falls due to no confidence. The report, to be made public later today, also details a three-tier election process for the 2029 elections. The panel believes that by consolidating multiple polls into one, it will enhance voter turnout and efficiency, and eliminate the financial burden of multiple elections.
