Members of the 11th battalion, a regional volunteer group, were greeted by friends and family on their return home to Chernigov.

The volunteer battalion is frequently referred to as the "Kyivan Rus" and for the past three months has served on the frontlines in the conflict along Ukraine's eastern border fighting against Russian-backed separatists.
