A grant to City of Hope from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) will make it possible for novel stem cell-based therapies for cancer, HIV/AIDS, hemophilia and other diseases – developed at City of Hope – to be delivered to patients as quickly as possible.
The Alpha Stem Cell Clinic will unite the combined efforts of researchers and clinicians to rapidly develop cell-based therapies into standards of care. Leading the way will be Dr. John A. Zaia, M.D., the Aaron D. Miller and Edith Miller Chair in Gene Therapy, and Shirley Johnson, R.N., M.S., M.B.A., Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing and Patient Services officer.
