The Strymon DECO is an unusual beast. Hard to describe and unlike anything else, it has hidden sonic super powers that are pretty incredible. In fact, it's not trying to be a guitar pedal, not exactly. It's trying to emulate 2 reel-to-reel tape decks at the same time. Not to record, but to get other effects like overdrive, flange, chorus, slapback, and modulated short-repeat delays. (huh?) Unbeknownst to many, tape decks have been used for all these things by famous artists in the past. But never this easily, with this kind of fidelity and power.
I know, it's a bit hard to explain, but the DECO has a sound that is pretty darn amazing. Super natural and organic in it's effect delivery, it's deceptively simple to use but strikingly deep if you want. Truly a masterpiece of guitar enhancement, you won't want to miss this review by Jet and Reg.
Does it get the coveted Gear 'n Gigs "Seal of Approval"? Is it art, deco? Let's find out!
