Strongyloidiasis is a parasitic intestinal nematodes Infection whose more common and clinically important pathogenic species in humans is Strongyloides stercoralis. Strongyloidiasis nematode life cycle begins when the filariform larva penetrates into the skin and travels to the lungs. From the lungs, it migrates to the intestine in the form of a 2-mm hermaphroditic adult causing GI Infection.
Trichuriasis is an Infection caused by human whipworm. Human whipworm is also known as Trichuris trichiura. Its life cycle gets initiated by the ingestion of embryonated eggs. Anemia, abdominal pain, bloody or mucoid diarrhea are the symptoms of trichuriasis.
The next subject of discussion in this Infectious Medicine online lecture is pinworm Infection. One of the pinworm infections is enterobiasis whose causative agent is E. vermicularis. It is characterized by perianal pruritis, itching, pelvic or peritoneal granulomas.

Trichostrongylus species cause trichostrongyliasis Infection. Most of its species are responsible for causing disease in animals. However, several are found to infect humans by the ingestion of contaminated leafy vegetables.
Anisakiasis is also among the intestinal nematode infections which is associated with the ingestion of fish that belongs to the family Anisakidae. Information about capillariasis and abdominal angiostrongyliasis is also provided in this lecture.
