As the November 8th Midterm elections move in fast, and the Biden Administration takes the heat for persistently high gas prices at the pumps, President Joe Biden is raising the possibility of imposing a windfall tax on energy companies if they don’t boost domestic production. But he’d need Congress to do it. The president has been urging companies to ease up on gas prices as they bring in billions of dollars in profits. The American Petroleum Institute recently tweeted: “American energy is the solution to the current global energy crisis, but we must have access to our abundant resources in order to boost supply and bring down prices at the pump.” White House Correspondent Owen Jensen reports.
