Post 3 months of abortion, heavy bleeding. Now this can happen only if the patient has not been bleeding after the abortion or if the patient has been continuously bleeding drop by drop. So these are the abnormal situations. One after the medical or surgical abortion, whenever you get the first cycle of period. After that the next period usually regularizes. But in other cases where there has been no cycle at all or persistent cycle or persistent spotting. In such cases, heavy bleeding you have to rule out. The most important thing to be ruled out is infection. So look out for infection. Any infection needs to be treated. Second thing you have to rule out if there is any retained products of conception or any clots or anything persistent needs a scan done, to be followed up on that and also look out for fresh new pregnancies which are bleeding or any abnormal increase in the human chorionic gonadotropins level, leading to GTT has to be ruled out and in nothing that case, then DUB has to be corrected.
