Apart from being a versatile actor Aditi Rao Hydari is a splendid singer as well. She sang two songs in the romantic comedy movie “London Paris New York” where she played female lead opposite Ali Zafar.
Being a trained dancer, Aditi Rao Hydari made her debut with Sringaram, a movie based on classical dance. she played the role of a Devadasi. She also appeared in a classical themed song in the Marathi movie “Rama Madhav”, choreographed by Saroj Khan.
Her dance number “Luv Letter” in the movie “The legend of Michael Misra” earned her rave reviews from audiences.
Aditi Rao Hydari portrayed the role of Draupadi in a short film titled “Mama’s Boy” which is a modern take on Mahabharata.
Aditi’s love for wildlife encouraged her to become an active member of PETA.
Aditi Rao Hydari was born on 28thOctober, 1986 in Hyderabad. She was born into two royal lineages. Her parents Ehsaan Hydari and Vidya Rao got divorced when Aditi was just 2 years old. Her mother who was a professional thumri dadra singer at the time, moved to Delhi with her.
Due to a custody battle between her parents, Aditi Rao Hydari was sent to Rishi Valley boarding school in Andhra Pradesh. During her school days, she got an offer for a role Muzaffar Ali directed “Zooni” but sadly the venture got shelved after some time.
Aditi’s penchant towards music and singing comes from her mother. She also trained for Bharatnatyam under the renowned dancer Leela Samson.After school, Aditi Rao Hydariwent to Delhi for her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College which is affiliated to University of Delhi. At a young age of 17, she met actor Satyadeep Mishra and was married to him at the age of 21. But, a few years later the couple got divorced.
Her foray into acting was a mere coincidence. Sharada Ramnathan attended a conference where Aditi Rao Hydari performed Bharatnatyam. Later she casted Aditi for her movie “Sringaram” which was critically acclaimed and went on to win 3 National Film Awards.
Her Bollywood debut happened with Rakesh OmprakashMehra’s “Delhi 6” where she was a supporting actress.Her subsequent role in movie “YehSaaliZindagi” earned her praise and recognition in form of screen awards for Best supporting actor. Her role as Roshni in Murder 3 was widely appreciated. The movie was a commercial success and turned Aditi to a familiar name in Bollywood.
Apart from films, Aditi Rao Hydari featured in plethora of print and television advertisements. She appeared in ads for Airtel ad when 3G services were being launched in India. Cadbury paired Aditi with Rajkumar Rao for their romantic ad for Cadbury Glow. She has also starred in numerous Jewelry and Ethic wear advertisements. Her stunning looks and confident demeanor made her an ideal choice for modelling and as a result she’s been a regular at India’s biggest fashion shows like Lakme Fashion Week, India International Jewelry Week, Indian Bridal Fashion Week etc.
In 2017, after a gap of 10 years, Aditi has once again starred in a Tamil movie which is directed by Mani Ratnam. She is also currently filming movies like AurDevdas, Bhoomi and Sanjay LeelaBhansali’s “Padmavati”.
