I get this question A LOT. Is it wrong or bad to self-pleasure while you're in a relationship? The answer is YES and NO, depending on the why's and the how's.

Let's speak to the benefits of masturbation (whether you're in an intimate partnership or not):
•It may help you sleep better
•It may give you a boost of self-confidence
•It may help reduce stress levels in the body
•This is obvious, but it makes you feel good about yourself and your body
•It increases blood flow to vital organs such as your brain and reproductive organs, which may then help relieve menstrual pain, headaches, and other circulation problems

So, if it's so beneficial, how could it bring issues to the relationship? Sometimes, some people get so hooked with doing it solo that they tend to connect less (intimately, emotionally, physically) with their partners. They're "contented" about not having sex because self-pleasuring bears almost no shame, guilt about under-performance, or not satisfying the other person/s. Dependence on self-pleasuring for whatever reason may impact one's usual sexual activities with a partner, and take away healthy intimacy from the relationship.
