Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan hold talks
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held talks on a range of bilateral issues at the White House with US President Donald Trump.
The main two topics on Tuesday's agenda were Trump's decision to send weapons to Syrian Kurdish forces of YPG, which Ankara considers a "terrorist" group, and Turkey's request for the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, a US-based Muslim leader blamed by Ankara for last year’s failed coup attempt.
Trump promised better relations and cooperation after Turkish opposition to the US arming Kurdish fighters in Syria worsened ties between Ankara and Washington.
Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington, DC.
