I've driven every generation of X Trail, and this one was a long time coming. It now shares a heap with the Mitsubishi Outlander, thanks to a joint-venture between those two brands. But is this new-generation X-Trail a vast leap forward for Nissan? Or is it compromised because so much is shared with another family midsize SUV?
Honestly, I reckon it's a bit of both. I wasn't as blown away with this car as I was with the new Qashqai, but I also think this remains one of the most practical models you can buy at this kind of money.
