We always tell our patients to avoid 3 kinds of activities when they have knee arthritis:
1. High Impact activities like running, jumping, jogging, skipping, and dancing.
2. Climbing Stairs to lose weight and reduce knee pain. This is highly counterproductive and makes everything worse.
3. Deep knee bending - which typically happens in squatting positions.
All of the above can be resumed after your knee replacement surgery. But if you have consistent pain in your knee, these activities should be avoided.
