Just two hours from Oslo Airport in Fåvang, there is a non-touristic, but very beautiful ice cave - the Ice Church (Iskjørkja). On the banks of the picturesque river Tromsa, the Ice Church is created from year to year by nature itself.
In fact, this is the joint magic of nature and physical processes, meltwater flows down from the slope, heated during the day by the warm sun, and at night it freezes forming the ice vaults of this wonderful place. You simply must visit if you are in Norway in winter or early spring!
Usually, you have to overcome a difficult path to everything beautiful, BUT this is a rare place - only 20 minutes along the trail at an average pace without any special descents or ascents and you are already there! The trail is well-marked so you will not get lost!
But do not forget that it is really slippery there, and the walls of the cave are formed by brittle ice, so it's better to take ice access and a helmet with you! And of course, a camera and a tripod for unforgettable photos!
