Ryan Hayashi, the 2017 F.I.S.M. European Champion of Close Up Magic, performs a new two-man version of the cups and balls with his son, Johnny. This is the new competition act for the MZVD (Magischer Zirkel von Deutschland / Magic Circle of Germany) 2019 Preliminary Eliminations Competition (Vorentscheidung zur Deutsche Meisterschaften der Zauberkunst) to qualify for the 2020 German National Championships of Magic and the 2020 F.I.S.M. European Championships of Magic.
This act features the steel ball sequence "Spheres of Reflection", created by Ryan Hayashi and performed for the first time in official competition at the German Preliminary Eliminations Competition held in Mindelheim, Germany, on October 4-6, 2019. To the best of Ryan Hayashi's knowledge, the only other well-known cups and balls act to end with metal balls as the final load is Paul Gertner's act. Ryan Hayashi is aware that the idea is conceptually similar, but he is of the opinion that the two acts and the productions of the steel balls look completely different.
