#WanderingStraightPour #Experiments #MinaVillegasArt #acrylicpouring #arttherapy
Hello Friends! Welcome back to the garden! I love wandering straight pours, Aerie is one of my favorites! (you can find Aerie here [ Ссылка ]) Most of the straight pours I have done have pushed the cup away from me across the canvas, and create a really interesting different pattern because we are seeing what is the underside of the ribbon of paint, rather than the surface. Today I want to PULL the cup toward me, instead of PUSHING it away from me and see if there is a big difference between the two.
Im using a 24x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft. Its nice to be using a thick strong sturdy canvas again! In my last video, Aquamarine With Envy, ([ Ссылка ]) I was using a huge 36x48 inch canvas from Arteza that flexed and seemed to twist a bit while I was tilting! I love gallery wrapped canvases, they feel so substantial and solid.

I need 26 ounces to cover my canvas.. I layer a 16 ounce cup and pour it into a 'runway' of my gold paint, then I layer another 10 ounces or so into my cup and pour that where the last cup ended. Then apply a flow extender around my pour in thinned out Deep Sapphire. I anchor the corners and some of the sides enough to stretch it out.. but since the center is not anchored on anything it stays smaller than everything else. It does look pretty cool.. HoA says this piece looks like a window into the galaxy.
Comparing the 2 paintings, the pushing vs the pulling, I prefer the look of the pushed wandering straight pour.
The last little bonus tip involves Golden High Flow acrylics and a drop of water. I spray a bit of water on my fingertips, then add one drop of the High Flow Pearl White to my finger. I mix the drop of paint with the water on my fingers then flick it at the negative space areas on my painting to create the look of stars.
