FINALLY! SOME EARTHBOUND MUSIC!

I've been on a massive EarthBound and Mother kick lately. I mean, UNDERTALE is my favorite game, I was eventually going to take a closer look at the main game that inspired it. However, there's a lot of music in EarthBound I've always wanted to do. I've just never gotten around to it because other music piqued my interest first, but the Onett theme has always been a standout. Up to this point the only bit of EarthBound music I've ever done was in my SNES medley, which started with the Onett theme. And now, more than two years later, I'm revisiting it for its own cover!

Speaking of revisiting things, I'm actually revisiting an old style I used to do a lot. For a long time I would always record my leads as duelling parts with two different guitars. I did away with that, largely for practicality reasons, but I wanted to revisit that style in this cover for the solo section. And weirdly enough, I've grown an affinity for the Austin parts caster. The thing I've got for ten dollars and have sunk a further hundred and twenty into is one of my favorite guitars to play... yeah, that's weird I know! It did really well for leads though... like shockingly well! I intend to install a hotrail or something of that nature into the bridge position in order to turn it into a punk rock HSS strat.

Furthermore, about the solos... yes, I went overboard but I really don't care that much. It was worth it to challenge myself as far as my solo licks are concerned. I have a few new licks to use that I got up to some faster speeds than I'd tried before, so now I can shred up to about 170. I'm hoping to try it on some songs later this year. Regardless, even if the solos were overkill, I hope you enjoy it!
