Tuning System Performance
Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides the tuning service named tuned to help system administrators optimize performance for different types of workload use cases. The tuned service can apply tuning adjustments both statically and dynamically, using tuned profiles configured to meet particular workload requirements. A number of predefined tuned profiles exist for different tuning objectives, such as power conservation or network throughput. The tuned architecture includes the ability to customize a profile's rules to meet workload requirements.
