And after his firm declarations about the “dangerous regime,” he had a “better” message for the Iranian people. Pence said:
“From the people of America to the proud and brave people of Iran. We are your friends and the day is coming when you will be free from the evil regime that suffocates your dreams and buries your hopes.”
He added that when their “day of liberation” arrives, the friendship between the U.S. and the “good people of Iran ... will blossom once again.”
Pence tweeted that the Iranian people's resistance “gives hope and faith to all who struggle for freedom and against tyranny.”

France’s foreign minister on Monday criticized Iran for its development of nuclear-capable ballistic missiles, which he said violates the United Nations resolution cementing the 2015 nuclear deal.
Speaking at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Jean-Yves Le Drian said talks would focus, among other things, on Iran’s military activities in Yemen, Lebanon and Syria.
“We will also have the opportunity of underlining our firmness on Iran’s compliance with United Nations Resolution 2231, which limits access to ballistic capacity and which Iran does not respect,” he said, according to Reuters.
