Since September 2021, Ariha Shah has been in foster care in Germany. She was only seven months then. The German Child Welfare Services alleged that Ariha's parents – Dhara and Bhavesh Shah – had abused her, and therefore, weren't fit to take care of her. As the parents fight against the child services, the mother tells The Quint, "We will do anything to get her back, but we are stuck in the system,” appealing to the Indian government to help Ariha to be repatriated to India and reunited with her family.
