Italians gathered on Tuesday (3/2) outside the US embassy in a final protest against the imminent execution of Karla Faye Tucker in Texas.
Public outcry continued in the media with headlines in every major newspaper asking for mercy for the condemned murderer. Tucker has been on death row since 1983 for her conviction in the slayings of two people in Houston. Since that time she has become a born-again Christian, leading to calls for her sentence to be commuted.
