For a more in-depth look go watch the video where training is conducted inside. This video was shot before the wave simulation capabilities where added, still very informative [ Ссылка ]
In today’s world, ship crews around the world face different kinds of threats. Important is that no matter what, you have a well-trained crew to manage the situation. But how to prepare your crews in a safe manner that gives an authentic experience to an actual situation without putting them into harm’s way.
Sure, you can teach them the theory, but there's no replacement for having to hammer softwood wedges into deck and bulkhead splits that are spraying cold, high-pressure water in your face.
That's why the Estonian Navy gave the task to design and build a realistic environment to deal with multiple possible scenarios that ship crews can encounter in a controlled and safe environment.
Introducing the MDSC Systems Damage Repair and wave simulation Unit. A unique development that ensures your crew has the necessary skills when it matters. Practice multiple times as much as needed to get to the desired level….
The solution is Modular and can be set up anywhere.
The hydraulic system allows for a tilt of up to 10 degrees. Wave simulation is varying to simulate different levels of sea conditions.
The simulated leaks can be individually guided or simulated simultaneously. Hull damage patterns are interchangeable…
The training room is under video surveillance and an instructor always has the overview from the comfortable heated control room.
Necessary accommodation rooms are provided for changing into gear
Water flow adjustable up to 100 cubic meters per hour.
The approximate weight of the system is 20 tons
Water tanks capacity 20 000 liters
Also known as sinking ship simulator
