Comparing the XHDATA D-109 and the D-808 on quite a rare North Korean SW signal. This is Korean Central Broadcasting Station (KCBS) Pyongyang from Kanggye, it is a local station from a 50 kW non-directional antenna. An interesting comparison of these two popular and very good radios on a weaker long-distance signal.

If you do not use SSB and Air Band the D-109 seems to be a very good option, at less than half the price of the D-808 it gives you the same MW, SW and FM experience, plus Bluetooth and SD card player.

There is quite a difference in the sound quality, with the D-109 far ahead. But in terms of reception the D-808 seems to be marginally better.
