🇺🇦 Marioupol Ukraine. #Marioupol
Marioupol (signifiant "Ville de Marie") , est une ville portuaire et industrielle de l'oblast de Donetsk, en Ukraine sur la Mer Noire. C'est l'ancienne capitale de la région historique de Méotide. Sa population s'élevait à 0,4 millions d'habitants.
L'usine métallurgique Azovstal de Marioupol est une gigantesque complexe sidérurgique située à Marioupol, en Ukraine. C'est principalement une acierie, produisant du fer, du coke puis de l'acier (alliage de fer et de carbone). Elle est située sur la Mer d'Azov permettant l'utilisation des transports maritimes.
La construction de l'usine métallurgique Azovstal de Marioupol est décidée par le Conseil suprême de de l'URSS en 1930. La production de fer débute 1933 et celle de l'acier en 1935 faisant partie de l'URSS puis de l'Ukraine depuis Aoüt 1991.
Jusqu'à ces dernières années, c'était le plus grand complexe sidérurgique en Europe en volume de production.
Cette usine est à présent le théatre de combats acharnés pour son contôle et celui de l'ensemble de la ville depuis Mars 2022.

Mariupol (meaning "City of Marie") is a port and industrial city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine on the Black Sea. It is the former capital of the historical region of Méotide. Its population was 0.4 million.
Mariupol Azovstal Metallurgical Plant is a gigantic steel complex located in Mariupol, Ukraine. It is mainly a steelworks, producing iron, coke and then steel (an alloy of iron and carbon). It is located on the Sea of Azov allowing the use of maritime transport. The construction of the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol was decided by the Supreme Council of the USSR in 1930. The production of iron began in 1933 and that of steel in 1935 being part of the USSR and then of Ukraine since August 1991. Until recent years, it was the largest steel complex in Europe by production volume. This factory is now the scene of fierce battles for its control and that of the whole city since March 2022.
