Express 17 vs Grindmode | 7v7 Top Gun Championship Highlights
Elite Athlete's Journey founder Coach Eric Washington is always about giving credit to everyone but himself. Washington, a Woodside HS Alum and former CSM WR coach started his off season program a few years back with the mission to help local athletes prepare themselves for the next level.
Washington's team is loaded with talent starting with 4-star Troy Franklin who showcased his catching ability as a wide receiver and free safety. Franklin earned himself the GSF 7v7 Top Gun Tournament and Finals MVP awards. Washington was Franklin's WR coach at Menlo-Atherton High School. The Bears won the CIF D3-AA State Title against Lincoln of San Diego.
This is the first year that Washington is managing three 7v7 teams: Express 17, Express and Express Junior High. The teams are made up of mostly M-A and PAL players. This championship is also the first title for Coach Washington and EAJ as an organization.
Other athletes that have been a part of EAJ are Evan Williams, c/o 2019 out of St. Francis who recently committed to Fresno State, KeeSean Johnson, c/o 2014 out of Palo Alto HS who is getting ready for the NFL draft after a record setting year as a Bulldog as well and Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams who also attended Palo Alto and Fresno State.
The win qualifies Express to play in the GSF 7v7 Open Championship on May 5th.
