Deforestation in Brazil’s Amazon increased 30% when Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was in power. With more than 75,000 square miles of the Amazon destroyed in just the last 10 years, over 400 indigenous groups have lost their homes and the planet has lost a vast store of carbon vital for tackling climate change. The jungles produce 20% of the world’s oxygen.
This investigative journey shows the gold rush and farming that is pushing aboriginal communities over the edge. Along the way, we meet the Mundurukku aboriginal tribes and activists fighting to stop the destruction of Amazon jungle as well as the activists seeking solutions for a sustainable lifestyle.
