The first time that I saw a hot tool/knife was a little over a decade ago when shatter seemed to be flooding Oregon. The tools were initially billed as being an easier way to break up dab slabs, with it serving as a loading tool as more of a secondary feature (at least that was the way they were pitched here).
These days, with shatter being far less popular, the main benefit of the tool now is for loading, but if you use nectar collectors and electronic rigs like me, and stick to less-rigid forms of dabs like I do, non-electric tools typically do the trick. With all of that being said, Puffco had a deal on these for 4/20 so I finally took the leap, as I have long wanted one for my collection :)
