In this video, parents Claire and Shaun talk about how their twins, Evie and Isaac, got bronchiolitis (a viral chest infection) when they were just three weeks old.
Most children with mild bronchiolitis symptoms can be safely looked after at home. Both Evie and Isaac had severe bronchiolitis symptoms, which meant they needed treatment in hospital. About 3 in 100 babies with bronchiolitis will need treatment in hospital, to help with their breathing and feeding.
Isaac was particularly unwell and had to go to theatre to safely put breathing tubes into his airways. He then developed sepsis, which is a life-threatening reaction to an infection.
