Exuberant Cantor number from his “Palmy Days” film, but issued as an Arnheim record with only “vocal refrain” label credit. Though major star Cantor had recorded several sides for the Victor company during the three-year stretch prior to this August ’31 session, his name was curiously omitted from this release. Contractual conflict? A single Hit-Of-The Week track was the only other commercial recording on which Cantor performed during that same time period and with no additional sessions for the 14 months that followed.
From 78rpm Victor 22851 - There’s Nothing Too Good For My Baby (Cantor-Davis-Akst) by Gus Arnheim and his Cocoanut Grove Orchestra, vocal by Eddie Cantor, recorded in Hollywood August 23, 1931 .
