" Back in 1988 or 1990 there weren't any trainings especially for young parliamentarians, similar to the one you are part of today by Friedrich Naumann Foundation which is a very very good thing." Mian Imran Masood, Former Education Minister and FNF - International Academy for Leadership (IAF) Gummersbach, Germany, Alumni, shared his opinion via zoom with the first time Parliamentarians of Punjab Assembly here in Murree.
FNF Pakistan invited first time parliamentarians from Punjab Assembly to take part in 02 day workshop on "Rules of procedure and conduct of business in the assembly" moderated by Zafarullah Khan.
Mian Imran Masood further shared how this kind of trainings were not a norm in the 90s. "I have been parliamentary secretary for Health and Population welfare, that was the time I learned a lot about parliamentary practices.. In our time there was no proper training for newly elected parliamentarians. I was a young man of 25, a law graduate, when I joined Punjab Parliament. No body taught us, no body told us what are the rules , manners of engaging in Parliament. We learned by listening and reading old proceedings and learned from senior politicians."
