"I'll end it thus!" in Japanese
5:12 for epic Walter Agi moment, not a smirk tho
Rules of this challenge, customized to be as casual-friendly as possible while maintaining the difficulty of this challenge:
+) Master difficulty on ALL bosses including Terminal bosses, forced encounters. Outside of that Fellow difficulty is allowed for escaping unnecessary encounters.
+) Low Level run. Minimizing the amount of experience Flynn gained as much as possible, with some few exceptions listed below. Challenge Quests are allowed, but it is only limited to Neutral route mandatory missions.
+) Fusion naturally is allowed but Talking, first time to recruit demons, is only allowed. The second time is naturally out of the question and they must be resummoned through Demon Compendium.
+) Disallowing the use of Demon Compendium carried from the previous NG. They will be overwrited afterwards. Demons that are previously unlocked in the last playthrough however is allowed to be fused.
+) DLC is NOT allowed, including the armor you get from the DLC - except for Macca grind mission. Macca is absurdly terrible to get in this game - and we need all the items we can get for upcoming bosses. However playing the Macca grind mission to intentionally level up is disallowed.
+) App usage is allowed - but NO Fusion/Talk EXP boost, NO Demon Enhancer (apps that boost your demon's stats) and NO Fusion level cell boost, and NO incenses. Other shits are fair game.
+) Played in NG+. Nothing changes, other than all skill slots for Flynn and the demons are unlocked from the get-go.
Finally, the big bad Minotaur himself. The entire reason why I did this run - as well as my motivation for the rest of the run. Unrelated, but from here we can see how good the ENG voice dub is compare to the JPN version. Don't get me wrong - they did a good damn job at that too - but sometimes it feels like they were overdoing it and it kind of sucks.
Getting to the strategy, this is where I fucked up big: Tangata Manu. I should have not fused it away and let it in my inventory, and I was too focus on fusing other demons and get carried away with it. He learns Sukukaja at level 4, which is our only source of that skill before Minotaur (for low level run). After a while, I just kind of ditched the thought of redoing the run and just went with it. So I go with Rakukaja, and this ultimately doesn't matter for most of the part - as Minotaur is still capable of killing any demon with below 100HP if Labrys Strike hits them twice. And from that I have a brilliant idea that would reduces the threat of Minotaur later on in the fight. Resorting to the bait & switch demons to ensure that the demons with high HP will tank all the damage, and to also switching out demons that ran low on MP. While it drags on longer, we are mostly free from the threatening Labrys Strike. His Oni-Kagura was not much of a trouble since he misses it quite often. And with that, in the first wave we go for DEF +3 for maximum survivability, and when a demon goes down/their MP runs out, we immediately apply this strategy and it'll be smooth and easy, that is if he doesn't get smirk from the funny chaos guy or from attacking normally. I ignored his War Cry as using Tarukaja solves nothing if we're going for this strategy in the first place. And with that, we throw everything at him until he goes down.
"What's up with your low level demons with a shit tons of skills?"
Fodder. They won't be used in the battle and will be used to whisper Flynn skills I wanted. One of the luxury that a no fusion run can't have.
