When shopping for a new sound board in 2017 I was instantly drawn to the Allen & Heath dLive consoles I saw at WFX 2017. I made some inquiries and was eventually rewarded with an S5000 to play with for a few days. When you talk bang for your buck, I'm not sure you can do better than these!

This video is part 1 of a 13 part series I shot. I'm not making the rest of the videos public as I never had the agreement with the rep that I was shooting a review but those videos are available if you message me. These videos were shot for my own internal use as I knew I'd be bringing in several consoles to evaluate before our upgrade and I wanted to keep track of what I liked and disliked, what features each console had, and my overall impressions of the experience. Then I could go back later and compare my thoughts after each of the consoles were gone.
I'm putting this out there now as I couldn't find anything useful on the web about the different consoles I was considering. When you're spending around $100k on a sound board you should do some research. Now I'm just trying to help out the next poor schmuck that's shopping for a console by throwing some of my own experience in front of them. Why does no one do reviews of these things?
To that end, here's my *not public* review. Think of this like we met at a trade show and you asked me to sit down and tell you what I thought about it.
