(23 Feb 2017) GENNY BRINGS EIGHTIES GLAMOR TO FOGGY MILAN
The Genny runway show brought a hit of eighties glamor this morning (23 FEB. 2017) to foggy Milan, at the Duomo, the largest church in Italy.
Designer Sara Cavazza played with iconic eighties shapes, enriched with fine detail for the Genny Fall/Winter 2017 collection. It was inspired by the lines and color of the early 20th century. Shoulders were voluminous, while waists on jackets and coats were tight.
The elongated silhouette was enhanced by narrow-cut pants with gaiters. Lace fabrics showed Deco patterns which embellished the side of dresses and coats, with "G" spelled out in stones and Swarovski crystals. Lurex embroidery brought a dynamic appeal to dresses worked in a bold palette of gold, white and black.
Deco architecture inspired sensual overcoats and fur coats; bags sparkled with light effects, and the name "Genny" appeared on sheer blouses.
