Panasonic is building a new US based battery factory in Kansas to manufacture batteries for Tesla. However, this brings up the question – why don’t Panasonic and Tesla simply expand Giga Nevada as was originally planned instead? Why a new factory? The answer to this question is actually quite interesting.
