The Eastern Prickly Pear fruit and pads are a very tasty treat, but did you know that this Cacti is used and studied for lowering the blood sugar levels in people with diabetes 2, help with a hangover. Other possible future uses may be with lowering cholesterol, helping with symptoms from an enlarged prostate, obesity, colitis, & diarrhea, This fruit has anti-inflammatory properties, contains substantial amounts of ascorbic acid, vitamin E, carotenoids, fibers, amino acids, & antioxidant compounds.
