Okay, so there's a LOT going on in this update. For instance, basically everything I had before was scrapped because I felt like it.
But anyway, the base character meshes are now modular, but I haven't incorporated hiding various meshes based on the equipment yet. That's why you see bits of the female player character's arm when the Iron Armor is equipped.
You'll also notice a distinct lack of cool sounds like before. That's because I haven't added in the footstep system, ambient noise, and music systems yet either. I'll probably do that in the next update.
However, I am still in the process of rebuilding the combat. Feedback from the demo I released a while back was a resounding "eh, it's okay. needs work" so that's what I did.
I also added in a vaulting and climbing mechanic. It's still a huge work in progress. Vaulting looks pretty good, but the climbing is finicky and has the tendency to look weird. You'll see in the video above.
I also rebuilt the camera system so the player can swap shoulder cameras if they hold down the "WHIP OUT YOUR WEAPONS" button (F on Keyboard/Mouse and RB/R1 on a controller). I also move the camera close to the player when they're not in combat for exploring and whatnot. While in combat, the camera zooms out so you get a better view of what's going on.
I also redid the Archery. Now, just pulling out an arrow and aiming will zoom the camera in. I felt that was much better than forcing the player to manually zoom. Plus, that freed up the ZOOM button to become the Focus button while in Ranged mode so you can slow your roll.
So yeah, I'll add some more stuff and keep you guys posted. Let me know if you want a tutorial on how I did the camera stuff. I'll be happy to show what I did.
