Jesus climbs to the top of a mountain and reminds his disciples of the core message of the Torah. It is about how to be a blessing for all nations. It is about what it looks like to be a citizen of the commonwealth of the heavens. It is about loving your neighbor, even your enemies, and bringing flavor and light into the world.
It is good news, for then and for now.
In this video I visually walk through Matthew 5-7 and try to connect Jesus' teaching with the promise God made to Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 12 and the covenant God made with the people, through Moses, in Exodus 20. 2,000 years later we still need to hear, and more importantly, act of Jesus' message from the mountain.
