An extended tour of George Washington's Mount Vernon home, plantation and museum situated on the banks of the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States.

The house is a bit surreal in that it looks quite magnificent on the outside but is incredibley simple on the inside (no video or photos allowed inside). As I say in the video, no room is decorated in a similar way or simialr colour. Worth seeing though.

I highly recommend visiting the whole estate as it it quite close to Washington DC and even on a murky, overcast day quite a pleasant combination of gardens and a bit of history. And Washington was an amazing man; I wonder what form America would have taken if he had not lived.

Washington was a slave owner (they were set free as part of his will) and the estate has preserved the slave quarters but for some reason I didn't film them.
