Recently I had a chance to dive in Budapest, in one of the oldest and most exciting limestone mines of the world - Kobanya Mine.
It's cold water was refreshing and pleasant after warm water of Molnar Janos cave. Serenity of the passages was charming, I loved floating through the main two-story limestone passage to a vertical shaft in the end and then returning back. Total trip length of overhead portion is almost half kilometer. I dived together with a private guide, it is prohibited to dive alone or without a guide.
We used EANx32 in our stages as a main gas, and had air in our manifolded D12s on the back. I used Otter Brittanic drysuit with dryglove system. Hauberk 200 g/m undergarment was perfectly enough for my tempo and preserved my body warmth very well.
I used my Orcatorch D630 V2 canister light as a main lighting source and had D710 and D580 torches as a backup. Unfortunately I was not able to bring my DSLR rig and video light (Orcatorch D950 V2) with me to Budapest, otherwise the video quality would be significantly better.
I am very happy that I had a chance to visit this great diving spot. I highly recommend it for beginner overhead divers, especially the ones, who have cold water diving experience.
You can check YouTube for a load of great videos from this mine. Google has enough beautiful photos for you to fall in love with this diving location.
If you want to purchase a drysuit/undergarment, diving light or any other SCUBA diving gear feel free to PM me.
