This is a chess game between Judit Polgar and Alexey Shirov from Amsterdam, 1995. Six of Shirov's first seven moves are pawn moves in a Modern Defense. Once Polgar's knight arrives on e4, the position becomes critical. Shirov's delay in addressing the e4-knight post would be his downfall. Polgar soon thereafter finds a way to exploit Shirov's lack of development, first with a pawn sacrifice and next with a piece sacrifice. Polgar's final move in this 21-move encounter is both rare and aesthetic.
