Former Detective Superintendent Shabnam Chaudhri was one of the Metropolitan Police’s most senior female Asian officers.
She spent 30 years in the force where she managed critical incidents, led crime investigations and became a specialist in safeguarding.
She retired in 2019 and is now a director of Tell MAMA, an organisation which monitors and supports victims of anti-Muslim hate.
In a wide-ranging interview, Shabnam spoke about her experiences in the Met, the resignation of Dame Cressida Dick - and the future of policing:
